The 2019 Annual Conference of Shandong Association for Foreign Linguistics successfully concluded in Qingdao University of Science and Technology on 10 Nov 2019.
The two-day Conference was hosted by Shandong Association for Foreign Linguistics (SAFL) and organized by Qingdao University of Science and Technology. Zhang Shuhua, Vice-president of QUST, delivered a welcome speech in the opening ceremony. Wang Junju, Director of SAFL, delivered a speech on behalf of the Association. The opening ceremony was presided over by Yin Hongshan, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages of QUST.
More than 200 conferees from over 50 universities in Shandong Province and other areas attended the Conference. Professor Icy Lee from Chinese University of Hong Kong and other 5 professors made six keynote presentations on the theme of Linguistic Research and Development in the New Era.
And there were five parallel sessions, at which the papers summited by the conferees were presented and appraised. After discussion, 6 papers were awarded first prize, 11 second prize and 18 third prize.
Serving as an international platform for both teachers and students of QUST to learn, exchange and share, the Conference makes great contribution for the development of humanities in QUST, especially language disciplines.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Professor Ma Wen from Shandong University, Secretary General of SAFL, and it was announced that the next conference will be held in Yantai University in 2020.
