On the evenings of October 15th and 16th, a grand gala to celebrate 70th founding anniversary of PRC and welcome 2019 new students was held on QUST’s Sifang Campus, Laoshan Campus and Gaomi campus. Invited to attend the gala performance were University leaders including Ma Lianxiang, Lv Wanxiang and Ding Lin, and those in charge of university departments and colleges. They joined over 10,000 new students to enjoy the performance themed to show patriotism and QUSTers responsibility.
The Gala is divided into two parts, featuring symphony, chorus, poetry recital, stage drama and dance. It opened with the dance show "I Love You, China" performed by the university choir. The dance, conveying a deep patriotic feeling through cheerful rhythm, ignited the whole audience’s passion quickly. The chorus "We are All Dream Chasers" sung by the freshmen’s counselors pushed the performance to the climax.
There are many other wonderful performances such as the dance “Drum Rhyme in Flourishing Age ", the poetry recital "Youth and Responsibility", the stage play "Family Letter", and the campus folk song "Bus No. 375". At the end of the gala, all the audience stood singing together the song "Ode to the Motherland".
