Recently, the delegation of Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST) led by President Ma Lianxiang visited Siegen University of Germany and also called on the students of QUST studying there. Professor Wang Shoucheng, the dean of the Sino-German Technical College, is among the delegation.
During the visit, Ma Lianxiang held talks with newly-appointed Chancellor Richter, vice-president Bolivar of Siegen University. He gave a brief introduction to QUST, including its development history, school size, and the situations of teaching, scientific research and school-enterprise cooperation. Richter warmly expressed his welcome to QUST delegation, and conveyed the greetings of President Burckhart. Both sides reviewed the highly effective cooperation in electrical automation engineering between QUST and Siegen University, made in-depth discussions and reached a consensus on building cooperative teams and carrying out the scientific research. Taking the chance of the visit, Ma Lianxiang also visited student representatives of QUST who are studying in Siegen University, and asked about the details of their life and study. From their smiling faces, Ma Lianxiang said that he could see their happiness of success and confidence for the future. Meanwhile, he encouraged students to try to overcome difficulties and to study hard for an early success.
To date, more than 50 students of Sino-German Technical College have gone to Siegen University to study, of which more than 10 students were enrolled as postgraduates by Technical University Munich and RWTH Aachen University after finishing their undergraduate studies in Siegen.
