On April 22, Prof. Francesco Profumo, President of Politecnico Di Torino of Italy visited QUST. Party Secretary Prof. Gao Qing,President Prof. Ma Lianxiang and Vice-president Prof. Li Qingling met the Italian delegation respectively. The heads of College of Electromechanical Engineering, Sino-German College of Science and Technology and the International Exchange and Cooperation Office attended the meeting. The two sides have had a thorough discussion about the possible cooperation between the two universities. And finally a General Agreement of Cooperation between the Two Universities was signed to direct the cooperation of student education, teacher exchange, research cooperation, etc.
Politecnico Di Torino of Italy was established in 1859 in the city of Torino in the north of Italy. It ranks No. 1 of Italian CENSIS, 51-75 of ARWU 2006 ENG in the world. The university has over 26000 students, among them over 10% are foreign students. It is strong at the fields of Construction Design, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, etc. Many world famous companies like General Motor, Motorola, have their R&D center in its campus.
