From 23rdto 30th, April, a delegation led by Prof. Dr. Chen Kezheng, President of Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST), paid a successful visit in Germany and France at the invitation of University of Paderborn, University of le Havre, among others.
The delegation visitedUniversity of Paderborn, Clausthal University of Technology, University of Le Havre and Continental AG, as well as Education Sections of the Chinese Embassy in Germany and France. During these visits, insightful exchanges were carried out regarding Chinese-foreign cooperation in education and research, the introduction of high-end talent, and other related issues. Consensus and agreements were reached on these matters, laying a solid foundation for further partnerships between QUST and German and French universities.
During his visit to University of Paderborn, President Chen signed a cooperation agreement with Pro. Dr. Birgitt Riegraf, President of Universität Paderborn, and held the Enlarged Meeting of Joint Management Committee of Chinesisch-Deutsche Technische Fakultät.
In Continental AG, the delegation held talks with Dr. Boris Mergell, Senior Vice President of Research & Development, and Prof. Dr. Jorge Lacayo-Pineda, Head of the Materials Evaluation Panel. The parties reached a consensus on developing new materials, improving techniques, and test methods. Additionally, they agreed to establish joint PhD training programs. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Jorge Lacayo-Pineda's visiting professor contract with QUST has been renewed.
During the visit to Clausthal University of Technology, the delegation had a productive discussion with Prof. Heike Schenk-Mathes, the Acting President of the University. They reached an agreement on deepening inter-university exchanges and strengthening scientific research cooperation. In addition, both parties agreed to collaborate in establishing joint master training programs, lightweighting research programs, and advanced material research programs. They also agreed to jointly apply for German government projects.
During the visit to University of Le Havre, a new cooperation framework agreement has been signed, and the agreement on Sino-foreign cooperative school-running project in the field of automation has been renewed.
