On the morning of August 16th, QUST held the opening ceremony of D1, D2, D3 teaching & lab buildings in Laoshan campus. President MA Lianxiang, Vice-President ZHANG Shuhua, Vice-President LI Yong, Vice-President LV Wanxiang, and heads of the Dean’s Office, Rear-service Department, State-owned Assets Management Office, the Infrastructure Construction Department, the Publicity Department, School of Automation, College of Electromechanical Engineering, School of Information Science and Technology and School of Mathematics and Physics and the representatives of teachers and students attended the ceremony. President MA Lianxiang announced the opening of the three buildings.
The three buildings (D1, D2, D3) are frame structure buildings that have 6 floors with the construction floor area of 39,933 square meters. They are mainly used for the teaching, experiment and office work of the School of Automation, College of Electromechanical Engineering, School of Information Science and Technology and School of Mathematics and Physics. The project was started construction on April 1st, 2016. The complex terrain and the big foundation elevation differences brought great difficulties to the underground construction, but the Construction Department and others coordinated with the construction units to overcome the difficulties, strictly supervised the quality of the project, and ensured the buildings put in use as scheduled.
