On the morning of January 30th, “Energy production, Consumer Revolution and Carbon Market Cultivation” Academic Seminar was held in Qingdao University of Science and Technology. Xie Kechang, vice president and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, vice president of the China Association for Science and Technology, and chairman of the Mainland Committee of Cross-Strait Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Development Forum, Zhang Yousheng, director of NDRC Energy Economy and Development Strategy Research Center, Li Zhenjun, deputy director of Qingdao Development and Reform Commission and director of Municipal Energy Conservation Office, Wang Chunsheng, vice general manager of Qingdao Taineng Group Ltd, and some others attended the seminar. Ma Lianxiang, president of QUST and executive vice chairman of the Mainland Committee of Cross-Strait Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Development Forum, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Li Qingling, vice president of QUST and secretary-general of the Mainland Committee of the Forum hosted the meeting. Experts and scholars from Sino-German Technical College (CDTF in German) and School of Economics and Management of QUST presented and took part in discussions and exchanges.
On behalf of QUST, Ma Lianxiang gave a warm welcome to all the guests. He briefly introduced the development of QUST’s Institute of Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Development, the origin of the Cross-Strait Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Development Forum, as well as the researches and works that QUST has done in related fields. Ma Lianxiang said that QUST will continue to strengthen its study in fields of energy production and consumption as well as carbon market cultivation. He also said that QUST will carry out wide communication and cooperation, and make efforts to build an important cross-strait academic communication platform for experts and scholars of energy and environment areas, in order to tackle climate change and promote energy revolution jointly.
Xie Kechang showed his appreciation for the fruitful work that QUST has done for Cross-Strait Climate Change and Sustainable Energy Development Forum, and highly praised QUST’s study in related fields. He also made an academic report about “Thinking and Research on Promoting Energy Production and Consumer Revolution ”.
Experts at the seminar exchanged the latest research results, and made discussions and exchanges focusing on the new situation and policy of energy development, accelerating the construction of low-carbon city, promoting the plan of implementing energy production and consumer revolution, construction and cultivation of Qingdao carbon market, the study of carbon emissions scenario in low-carbon pilot cities, as well as harmless, minimizing and resourceful treatment on urban solid waste.
