On the morning of February 14, 2012, the National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, in recognition of those technology workers who have made great contributions to Chinese science and technology in 2011. The leaders of the CPC and the State, Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao, Li Changchun, Li Keqiang, etc. attended the meeting and presented the awards for the winner representatives. The project, A Package Technology and Equipment for Recycling Waste Rubber and Plastic Using Low-Temperature Splitting Method，completed cooperatively by QUST and Jinan Youbang Hengyu Science and Technology Development Co.,Ltd , won the second prize of National Science and Technology Award. The project leader Professor Wang Chuansheng, dean of College of Electromechanical Engineering of QUST, attended the conference and accepted the awards.

This project is in the realm of recycling economy and energy conservation which has made great technical innovation in pyrolysis technology,pyrolysis equipment and gas splitting, gas recycling, purifying technology and equipment, and has been authorized 2 national invention patents,9 utility model patents, 11 PCT international protections. It has made its own independent innovative achievements and has been industrialized. This is the QUST’s 14^th award of National Technological Invention Award and National Science and Technology Progress Award, and also another achievement of QUST model in integration of administration, production, teaching and research.
