On the morning of June 10 , a delegation headed by VitalySergeev, vice-president of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) visited QUST. Professor Ma Lianxiang, president of QUST and Professor Li Qingling, vice-president of QUST met the delegation.
Professor Ma Lianxiang welcomed the visit of the delegation and pointed out that Russia and China are strategic and cooperation nations, their universities should also actively explore to create cooperative relationship. There are lots of similarities in many disciplines between the two universities that we can share research resources and strengthen cooperation and exchange to build a first-class university and the first-class discipline. Professor Ma Lianxiang signed the MOU afterwards. Professor Li Qingling suggested that under the MOU, the two universities can have various kinds of cooperation, such as research cooperation, undergraduate exchanges and summer camp.
Vitaly Sergeev said he was very honored to visit QUST and it was his first visiting to China. He pointed out that SPbPU ranked top in the field of energy and power engineering among universities in Russia. As the promotion of the concept of clean energy and sustainable development, there exists broad prospect for nuclear energy research and utilization. Knowing QUST’s remarkable achievements in the field of energy engineering, Vitaly Sergeev looked forward to have cooperation with QUST and sincerely welcomed the teachers and students participating in the academic exchange that SPbPU held annually.
Also present were Wang Chuansheng, dean of the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, He Yan and Wang Zepeng, associate Dean of the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and Wang Hao, deputy director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office.
