On May 14, the fifth anniversary celebration of LanxessRubber R&D Center Qingdao was held at the Center. Claus Wrana, polymer testing supervisor of Lanxess Technology Innovation Center, Hu Dongqi, executive director of Management Board of Lanxess China, Gao Qing,party secretary of QUST, Li Qingling vice-president of QUST, Jiao Mingwei, deputy governor of Qingdao Shibei District, Li Xin, director of Basic Science and Research Office of Qingdao Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and representatives from other universities and institutions, Key Laboratory of Rubber and Plastics, Equipment Office, Postgraduate Office, International Exchange and Corporation Office,Municipal Park of Science and Technology etc. attended the ceremony. President Ma Lianxiang met the German guests who came here to attend the ceremony.
On behalf of QUST, Li Qingling expressed warm congratulations on the 5th anniversary of the Center. In his speech, Mr. Li reviewed the history of cooperation between Lanxess Group and QUST. He pointed that, since the establishment of the R&D center, it had made a great contribution to the development of science, education, and cultural communication between China and Germany, as well as between QUST and Lanxess Group. QUST will support the center’s work as always and expect a broader and deeper cooperation in the future.
After the ceremony, the Advanced Rubber Material Symposium was held at the university’s Key Laboratory of Rubber and Plastics of the Education Ministry. Professor Zhao Shugao, director of the Key Lab, hosted the symposium. Eight experts gave lectures on hot issues of rubber science, among them are professor Schuster from Lenxess, professor Guo Shaoyun from Sichuang University, professor Zhao Yunfeng, the Deputy Chief Engineer of Institute of Aerospace Material and Engineering, and professors from Beijing University of Chemical Technology and QUST. Following the lectures, seminars were held among all the experts.
