On the afternoon of October 18, an Estonian delegation of 3 people visited QUST to discuss exchanges and cooperation, including Vice-Chancellor, professor Alar Kolk, director of International Student Center,professor Katlin Keinas from Tallinn University of Technology (TUT), a sister university of QUST. Vice president professor Wei Dianhua met with the guests and leaders from
College
of
Chemical Engineering
and
International
College
also attended the meeting.
On behalf of QUST, professor Wei Dianhua extended a warm welcome to the guests and gave a brief introduction to QUST in personnel training, discipline construction, academic construction and international exchange etc. Wei Dianhua pointed out that important progress has been made in exchanges and cooperation between the two universities in recent two years. Greater improvement in exchanges and cooperation will be promoted by this visit of TUT guests.
Professor Alar Kolk expressed his appreciation of achievements in teaching and research, combination of production, learning and research of QUST. He deemed that the two universities have lots of similarities in cooperating with enterprises and international companies, and they can learn from each other in mutual emulation. He also gave a full recognition of the students sent to TUT from QUST, and expressed that more attention will be given to the 9 undergraduates and graduates who are now studying in TUT.
After the meeting, the guests visited the Fermentation Engineering Laboratory of College of Chemical Engineering and had an informal discussion with QUST students who are interested in the English-Medium Master Degree Programs and the scholarship system of TUT.
