According to the project approval statistics of science and technology project-establishing plan done by the Science and Technology Department and the Department of Education of Shandong Province, Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST) has been approved 63 projects including projects of Provincial Natural Science Foundation, Outstanding Young Scientist Award Fund, Provincial Science and Technology Development Plan, Provincial University Science and Technology Plan, a 10.5% rise over 2010, standing at the top of provincial universities.

In recent years, in accordance with the spirit related to science and technology work of QUST, the Science and Technology Department has attached great importance to the management of science and technology plans. It takes various measures such as project application online, information-based supervision, strict inspection and acceptance which have made its management of science and technology plans more effective and scientific. In the application of provincial scientific and technology projects, it has provided vigorous support to the construction of all innovative teams, supported the young scientists to carry out basic research and technological innovation, and has effectively improved their ability to undertake national projects. Meanwhile, for removing the technical bottlenecks existing in the provincial projects closely concerning regional economic development, we have reserved a number of scientific and technological achievements which have provided supports for the sustainable development of our school’s integration of production, teaching and research.
