On September 11th and 12th, the New Student Opening Ceremony and Military Training Achievements Demonstration were heldon QUST’s Sino-German Campus (Qingdao), Laoshan Campus, Sifang Campus and Gaomi Campus respectively. The university leaders including president Ma Lianxiang,deputy presidents Li Qingling, Liu Guangye, Zhang Shuhua,and Wei Dianhua attended theevents.Relevant military personnel were invited. Deputy president Chen Kezheng presided over the ceremony and demonstration.

The Military Training Achievements Demonstration startedwith the singing of majestic national anthem. Ma Lianxiang made the official welcome speech. He pointed out that QUST is a university with rich connotations of "rubber character" and "QUSTSpirit". He extended warm welcome and congratulations to new students, andat the same time, he required them to work hard, strengthen their moral character and improve themselves during college years. In his speech Ma also expressed sincere gratitude to the military leaders who were in charge of the newstudent’s military training.

Teachers’ and students’ representatives from different schools were also invited to make speech at the ceremony and demonstration.
