On October 24^th, theUS News & World Reportreleased the list of global best university rankings in 2018, which covers 1250 institutions of higher learning in 74 countries and regions. QUST ranked the 1149^thin the world, the 106^thin Chinese mainland, and the 5^thamong the 8 universities of Shandong Province on the list.

In addition to the comprehensive rankings, the new version of the world's best university list also includes 22 rankings by subject. There are 76 Chinese institutions on the Chemistry List (QUST ranked the 540^thin the world and the 65^thin Chinese mainland) ,79 on the Engineering List and 78 on the Material Science List. All these indicate that the gap between China and the United States on the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) education is narrowing gradually.

The US News & World Reportis the third largest US news magazine. It has beenranking the US universities and their faculties since 1983, and releasing the rankings of the world best universities once a year since 2014, which enjoys a high reputation.
