On the 7th of March, the opening ceremony for foreign students of the second semester of 2007-2008 was held in the conference room of the Building of College of Electromechanical Engineering.

At the ceremony, Mr. Wang Hao , the Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office (IECO), briefly introduced QUST to the foreign students, and hoped that they could work hard to better understand Chinese culture and act as friendly messengers between countries. Teachers from IECO spoke at the meeting encouraging students to perform better in new semester, giving them advice of how to learn Chinese and pointing out some requirements and issues that students should pay attention to, while introducing to the students the regulations of QUST.

Pu Renqing, a senior from South Korea, recalled her last semester experience of studying and living. Xin Wenzhi, a freshman from South Korea, expressed her determination and confidence in learning Chinese.

Mr. Jiang Dejie, the Head of IECO awarded scholarship and certificates to students who made outstanding performances last semester at ceremony.
